Western Area Power Administration (Western) and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) have prepared a Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement to evaluate the impacts of wind energy development in Western's Upper Great Plains Customer Service Region (all or parts of the States of Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota), and on the Service's grassland and wetland easements in the region.

PEIS Documents

Preparation of the Upper Great Plains Wind Energy PEIS was a multistep process that included publication of a Draft PEIS and a Final PEIS. In addition, Western and the Service will issue agency-specific Records of Decision. These and other PEIS-related documents will be available for downloading and browsing on the Documents page as they are completed.
